Change hostname to SW1.
No ip domain lookup to avoid translating " " ...domain server (255.255.255.255). It is very annoying!

To be able to remote into Switch you must be connected to an Ethernet port. Configure a VLAN first. Leave VLAN1 as it is the default, create VLAN2.
Add an IP address, in this demonstration I will use 192.168.10.10 255.255.255.0.
No shutdown enable the interface.
Enter the Ethernet port and switch to VLAN2.
The commands are switchport mode access followed by...
Switchport access vlan 2. FastEthernet 0/1 is now in VLAN2 and port is up.
Test it.

Use Telnet first. As it shows User Access Verification that means Telnet is successful.
Enter your username and password.
Followed by the Switch's secret password. You are successful.
Now let's try SSH, the secure version. The command is ssh -l (username ip address) then type your password.
Also a ping was perfomed to show connectivity is successful ad accurate.
Also try it via CMD, both Telnet and SSH.
In both demonstrations Telnet and SSH are successful accessing from Switch's Terminal and CMD.
